FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything authors usually want to know before booking. Don't see your question? Just ask.
What genres do you work with?
Most fiction genres — fantasy, romance, sci-fi, thriller, mystery, literary fiction, YA, and more. If your genre isn't listed, just ask; the odds are good it's a fit.
How long does beta reading take?
Typically 1–2 weeks for manuscripts up to 80,000 words, and 2–3 weeks for longer works. You'll get a confirmed timeline before we begin.
How long does editing take?
It depends on the service and word count. Proofreading and copy editing usually take 1–2 weeks; line and developmental editing 2–4 weeks. Rush options may be available on request.
Do you sign NDAs?
Absolutely. Your manuscript is treated as confidential by default, and I'm happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement for extra peace of mind.
Can I request revisions?
Yes. Every project includes a follow-up round for questions and clarifications, and cover design projects include revision rounds built into the quote.
What file formats do you accept?
Microsoft Word (.docx) is preferred so you receive tracked changes and comments. Google Docs, .odt, and .rtf files also work.
How do payments work?
A 50% deposit secures your slot, with the balance due on delivery. Payment plans are available for larger projects — just ask.
Do you edit series?
Yes — and series clients receive a continuity style sheet that tracks names, timelines, and worldbuilding details across every book.
Can I book multiple services?
Definitely. Many authors combine beta reading with editing, or editing with a cover design. Bundled bookings are scheduled back-to-back and often qualify for a discount.
